Hope HSM (High School Ministry) has a vision to REACH THE TRIANGLE - CHANGE THE WORLD! This is a big vision and can only be accomplished if we join together as high school students, leaders and parents to love students where they are and encourage them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

This is why our primary goal is to partner with parents to foster growth and development of High School students in five key areas identified by Hope: LIVE what you learn, GIVE of your resources, SERVE where you are gifted, SHARE your story, and CONNECT with others.

about-arrowsOur process is simple...

1) Love students where they are and encourage them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ

2) Create irresistible environments where it's safe for students to explore who they are in Christ, discover their gifts and engage in their purpose

3) Connect students with leaders who will invest in them throughout their lives

So what do we do to make this process happen...

On the first Wednesday of every month, we invite all of our small group students as well as their friends to gather together in one place for an experience we call PULSE. Pulse is a safe place for high school students to discover that they were created by God, for God and therefore they matter to God. No matter where students are in their spiritual journey, from checking God out to following Him with everything they are, this is a place for high school students to explore who God has called them to be and experience Him in a powerful way!

Jesus said, “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” John 10:10

Next, we want students to get connected with a HSM SMALL GROUP where they  experience true community and accountability as they do life together. Our midweek HSM small groups are designed for students to explore God’s amazing love while learning more about who He has called them to be. Small groups are the best way to find connection and community with others going through some of the same things you are. Through small groups we connect students with adult leaders who will invest in them and partner with parents. Small group students laugh together, cry together, serve together, pray together, seek God together, celebrate together, struggle through things together, and most importantly grow together!

Jesus replied, “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment…”  Matthew 22:37-38

“…Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:39

But it doesn’t stop there! As high school students continue to explore who God has called them to be, they begin to be awakened to a new reality that “It’s not all about me after all!”  We, as a High School ministry, want to encourage acting on this new way of thinking by getting students to engage using the gifts, talents, and passions God has given them to to demonstrate God’s love to a broken world through personal ministry and service. Our desire is to help students discover who God has made them to be and help them to join or start a ministry that utilizes these gifts and talents to serve others.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”      Matthew 28:19-20

Finally, we want to partner with parents to influence the next generation. As a ministry, we will average a mere 40 hours a year with a student. That doesn’t come close to the the 3,000 hours a year parents have with their student. As a part of the Family Ministry at Hope provide opportunities for parents to learn more about parenting, connect parents to what students are learning and supply parents with tools and resources to help implement these principals at home. Our hope and prayer is that parents allow us to partner with them on this journey, combining the two great influences (church and family) to make a greater impact than either one could make alone.

“Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night....” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.  Proverbs 22:6
